Happy Holidays! It’s the most wonderful time of year, especially because of the celebratory snacks, drinks, and of course, dessert. I’m known for having a big sweet tooth and will always say yes to a glance at the dessert menu. The holidays are a busy time and we love supporting local around here, so I thought it’d be great time to share my Top 5 Places in the Triangle Known for Their Dessert. Stop in for a pick me up or place your holiday order at one of these lovely local spots. Keep reading, you’re in for a treat!

Hayes Barton Cafe & Dessertery

The most iconic dessert spot in Raleigh. Hands down.

This cozy cafe nestled in the Five Points neighborhood of Raleigh serves up the largest slices of cake and pie I’ve ever seen. Besides the servings being jaw-dropping, the taste is out of this world. As soon as you step inside, you’ll feel transported back in time by the checkered floors and Old Hollywood movie stars covering the walls. Hayes Barton is a wonderful place to celebrate or have date night.

If you’re in search of a piece of peanut butter pie the size of your head, look no further.

Asali Desserts & Cafe

Asali Desserts & Cafe in Cary, NC specializes in Mediterranean desserts, cakes, small plates, coffee, teas and more. This is one of my favorite spots to pop in for a savory pastry or cake pop paired with one of their delicious seasonal coffee drinks. A place that can do dessert AND coffee well get an A+ in my book.

Pictured here is one of their most well-know desserts, Baklava Cheesecake. Thank you Asali for realizing these two iconic flavors really needed to come together. You’ll definitely want to order one of these for your holiday gathering!

You have now arrived at a very important part of this piece. I had tried MANY macarons around the Triangle and just couldn’t quite find the best. That was until Mon Macaron opened in Seaboard Station. THESE ARE THE BEST MACARONS EVER.

The texture and flavor is flawless, which for a macaron is very hard to do. This bakery has perfected their method and I'm so happy we have this spot. They are constantly releasing fun flavors and now even have wine and macaron flights. Yes, you read that right. Get there now!
